The respect of the biodiversity, in particular the one within the forests, the plants, mushrooms and also the fauna, for example bees as sentinels of the environment, is really determining for the new generations.
This respect encourages the preservation of the traditional knowledge. The relationships between human beings and environment have been treated through different subjects that the students of our two high schools have chosen :
•Sustainable development with community forest
•Some medicinal plants of Bumthang
•Economically important plants of Bumthang
•History of Bumthang as a holy place
•Cordyceps harvest in Bumthang
•Traditional beekeeping and relationship between bees and human beings
•Prevention of environmental risks: floods and fires.
•Basis of happiness in France and Bhutan
•Perception of environment and transmission of the traditional knowledge
Together, they will question themselves on these subjects, in a common presentation in which each student will be a specialist.
If possible, they will compare some of the same problems of their two countries, with their different or similar looks.
In particular, they will try to answer the question:
Are the new generations more interested in preservation of environment than the oldest?
